Ylaska Tejeda began her Global Brigades journey in May of 2015 serving as a translator and eventually as a coordinator. She has an International Relations degree from The Catholic University of Honduras. While in Global Brigades, Ylaska partook in Water, Engineering, Public Health, Legal Empowerment, Dental and Medical in-person Brigades, and is currently a Virtual Program Facilitator for the Business and Medical Programs.
Ylaska found her love for Global Brigades when she witnessed her first water project completed as she was able to see the impact that brigades had on many people’s lives. She’d always had a love for humanitarian work, having worked in an orphanage and mission trips, but it wasn’t until Global Brigades that she realized humanitarian work was her true calling.
