PARTNERS
Danielle became involved with Global Brigades in 2015 at the University of Toronto. She traveled with her Chapter to Honduras in 2015 and 2016 on two hybrid Medical Brigades. These experiences allowed her to understand how socio-economic factors can affect health outcomes, as well as allowed her to gain an appreciation of Global Brigades’s Holistic Model. In 2016, Danielle joined the University of Toronto Global Brigades Executive Team as Outreach Director and served in this role for two years. As Outreach Director, Danielle acted as an ambassador for Global Brigades on-campus and brought awareness to its values and objectives, especially to those unfamiliar with the field of sustainable development. This led her to greater understand the intricacies of the Holistic Model and how it relates to the field of sustainable development as a whole. Danielle was also involved in hosting two Central Canada Student Leadership Conferences in 2016 and 2017, which encouraged volunteers to think constructively and critically about the field of development, as well as focused on developing their leadership skills. Danielle’s undergraduate experiences with Global Brigades inspired her to grow within the organization, as she truly values its dedication to using interdisciplinary, capacity-building tactics to improve outcomes for under-resourced communities. This passion has led her to join the Global Brigades Canada Board of Directors as a Director-at-Large.

Danielle holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Global Health, as well as Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Toronto. She is currently studying at York University as a Master of Environmental Studies candidate.
