SUSTAINABLE IMPACT
WHERE WE WORK
PARTNERS

At Kambia, together with our partners, we work with over 100 businesses worldwide. We offer international business consulting programs, and now we are thrilled to introduce our new initiative: the Global Business Challenge!

What is the Global Business Challenge?

The Global Business Challenge is a unique opportunity for university students to collaborate with international businesses online, at their own pace. Through this program, participants will explore the economic, social, and cultural aspects of Panama, with a special focus on rural communities.

Last month, our team in Panama visited one of these communities and had the chance to speak with Hermelinda Batista, president of the Association of Producers and Aquaculture of the Santa Fe District, Darién (APRADESFED).

APRADESFED is a community-based association in Santa Fe, Darién that empowers local farmers through sustainable aquaculture and agriculture, combining tilapia farming with innovative aquaponics systems to overcome challenges like high electricity costs and water scarcity while providing both food security and income opportunities for its members. During their visit, they gained insight into the community’s work and the challenges their entrepreneurs face.

Getting to Know Our Clients: The La Moneda Community

Hermelinda shared that this project involves approximately 12 families, including husbands and children, who work together to strengthen the local economy. The La Moneda community, located in the province of Darién, is home to around 500 people. It is about a five-hour journey from the capital and serves as an inspiring example of resilience and cooperation.

The association consists of a diverse group of individuals, mostly women, who work daily to grow their businesses. Among the members are Carolina, Dilma, Cris Li, Cristina, Lucinda, Celestino, Reynaldo, Leonardo, Zeferino, and Urías, along with other collaborators who support various areas.

Learning Modules for Students

Participants in the Global Business Challenge will be able to work from home and choose from different focus areas based on the community’s needs. Some available options include:

  • Developing a marketing plan to enhance the visibility of local products.
  • Conducting an accounting review to optimize financial management.
  • Other specialized approaches tailored to each client’s specific needs.

This challenge not only provides hands-on experience in international business but also allows students to make a real impact on communities striving for economic and social growth.
