Melissa, an empathetic and driven individual, embarked on her journey with Global Brigades in 2018 as a translator, quickly realizing her passion for helping others. In 2023, she took the role of Program Associate, solidifying her commitment to community empowerment. Born and raised in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, Melissa understands the importance of uplifting her community.
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, she eagerly anticipates utilizing her acquired skills to support international volunteers during their brigades.
In her leisure time, Melissa is delighted in immersing herself in different stories and worlds through books and movies, cherishes the company of friends, and believes that a cup of coffee is an invitation to connect and share meaningful moments. With an unwavering dedication to empowering communities and a deep love for her work, she strives to have a long-lasting positive impact on the lives of individuals.
