NEW HYBRID NURSING PROGRAM
(Asynchronous Learning + One Live Rural Clinic Day)
*This program includes activities that need to be revised by the teacher
This hybrid program combines asynchronous learning sessions with one live rural clinic experience in Honduras. It is designed to strengthen clinical competencies and deepen understanding of the Honduran health system, with a focus on common chronic and infectious diseases and their corresponding treatments.
Nursing students engage in self-paced modules that build foundational knowledge, followed by participation in a live clinical session where they provide essential health services to a rural, resource-limited community. This hands-on experience enhances their practical skills and cultural competence while contributing to local healthcare delivery.
Students in this program will:
- Explore region-specific diseases and health issues that affect both individual and community health in Honduras.
- Gain an understanding of pharmacological practices, including the use and role of traditional medicines.
- Observe interactions between Honduran doctors and patients in a rural clinical setting.
